Throughout his solo career, Timberlake has sold over 32 million albums and 56 million singles globally, making him one of the world’s best-selling music artists. His fifth studio album Man of the Woods was released on February 2, 2018, two days before he headlined the Super Bowl LII halftime show in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 4, where Timberlake performed a medley of his songs featuring both the Tennessee Kids and the Minnesota Marching Band alongside him, as well as a duet of “I Would Die 4 U” with a video projection of late singer Prince on screen. The show contained multiple selections from Man of the Woods, which is named after his son Silas, whose name means “from the forest.” The album’s first single, “Filthy”, was released on January 5, along with its accompanying video directed by Mark Romanek. The electro-funk song has reached number 9 in the US and number 5 in Canada. The songs “Supplies”, “Say Something” featuring Chris Stapleton and “Man of the Woods” were also released along with music videos ahead of the album. His collaboration with Stapleton also reached the top 10 in the US and Canada. An accompanying tour of the same name began in March in Toronto, Canada and is scheduled to end in January 2019, in Denver, Colorado.
